Sialkot(khurram mir) 3rd August 2024 (Advisor to the Chief Minister on Health, Major General (retd) Dr. Azhar Mehmood Kayani visited Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital, during a visit of more than three hours, he made a detailed inspection of all the departments of the hospital.
 He chaired the meeting of the District Health Authority while a briefing was also given regarding Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College and Teaching Hospital.
 Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Zulqarnain, ADC Revenue Muhammad Iqbal, Principal Dr. Huma Kayani, MS Dr. Sohail Anjum, CEO Health Dr. Muhammad Aslam, DHOs, Heads of Department were also present.
 Adviser on Health Major General (retd) Azhar Mehmood Kayani said that the purpose of his visit on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is to review the medical facilities in the government hospitals of Iqbal city.
The administration of Khawaja Safdar Medical College and Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital, Sardar Begum Hospital should prepare comprehensive proposals for the improvement of medical facilities which will be submitted to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz.
 He expressed his dissatisfaction with the facilities provided to the patients in the trauma center and directed that doctors and staff should be present with the patients in case of emergency.
Dutiful doctors and staff should be appointed in emergencies, patients should be provided with the facility of medicines and tests from within the hospital.
 Action will be taken against the doctors and medical staff who order medicine from outside, measures will be taken for quick delivery of city scan machine in case of emergency.

 Adviser to Chief Minister of Punjab on Health Major General (retd) Dr. Azhar Mahmood Kayani said that the trend of referring patients to other hospitals is not tolerated, Principal and MS should discourage such elements. Adviser Health Major General (r) Dr. Azhar Mehmood said that it is the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab that state-of-the-art medical facilities should be available to the patients and for this purpose the Punjab government is spending billions of rupees annually.
 There is no tolerance in providing better health facilities to the citizens. Major General (retd) Azhar Mehmood Kayani directed that the doctors and staff should be punctual.

 He said that 3,000 to 4,000 nurses are being recruited in the province through the Public Service Commission, the issues including the approval of the Board of Directors to run the administrative affairs of Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital will be resolved soon. Inspected the monitored Cardiac Ward, OPDs, Echo and ETT rooms and appreciated the facilities provided here.
 He said that operation theaters for heart surgery and feasibility for setting up angiography will be created in the hospital. Adviser on Health Major General (retd) Dr. Azhar Mehmood was told in the District Health Authority meeting that 130 hospitals are running in Sialkot district under the organization of primary and secondary health care and 4961 patients are being treated daily in the OPD of THQ hospitals. is inspected,
 2367 patients are examined in rural health centers and 7480 patients in primary health centers. The Health Advisor said that 22 hospitals of Sialkot district are being revamped and also the Clinic on Wells project is running successfully.
 He appreciated the establishment of dialysis center in THQ Pasarur and directed that the revamping work in THQ hospitals should be completed in time.
 The Provincial Health Advisor expressed his gratitude for the project of construction of Pads Block in Government Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital on behalf of Forward Sports and said that the project should be completed as soon as possible in public interest.
 The health advisor directed that the health department should prepare its plan in case of possible flood. Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Zulqarnain, Principal, CEO Health and MS gave a briefing about the facilities and development projects in the hospitals.
