As a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan,

A question from the state

Hamid Mir

As a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, I am raising a question. I am daring to ask this question not to the government, but to the state. The question is that after the martyrdom of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, the Foreign Office of Pakistan issued a statement expressing condolences to the family of Ismail Haniyeh and the people of Filis, Taini, "Israeli adventurism." " was condemned. This statement of the Foreign Office was released to the media and was also reported in the media, but after a while, the word "Israeli" was removed from this statement and the condemnation of Pakistan was replaced by an unknown "adventurism". was limited to

The question is, why was the word Israel removed from the statement of Pakistan's foreign office and on whose orders? Has the state of Pakistan taken any decision without the approval of the elected body of the people, Parliament, which is not appropriate to announce?

I am raising this question because for some time, Pakistan's Foreign Office and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have been repeatedly supporting the two-state formula for the solution of the Palestinian issue. Bureaucrats at the Foreign Office say that the two-state formula is actually the UN Security Council's recommendation, so demanding implementation of this formula means implementing a Security Council resolution. When these bureaucrats are asked that Israel's occupation of Al-Aqsa Mosque is illegitimate according to the Security Council resolution, then why don't you openly condemn Israel's aggression? You know that we do not make the foreign policy, we execute the orders we receive.

My question is, who is the one who ordered the Foreign Office to remove the name of Isra, Eel from the statement issued on the martyrdom of Ismail Haniya?

The reason for raising this question is that in December 2023, a few months before his martyrdom, a huge Palestine conference was held at the Islamabad Convention Center, in which the leading scholars and scholars of all schools of thought in Pakistan participated. In this conference, Ismail Hania participated through video link and he said in very clear words that Pakistan can stop Israel from aggression in Gaza if it wants. Obviously, he did not say that Pakistan should turn its nuclear missiles towards Israel, but some scholars must have said such things. I also got the opportunity to speak in this conference, so I submitted that Dr. Abdul Qadir Khan was not made an example of example during the era of General Pervez Musharraf, why did he make Pakistan a nuclear power? The real reason for his displeasure with Dr. Sahib was that he was making a missile that could reach Israel and he himself told me again and again about the conversation he had with Musharraf on this issue. I submitted in this conference that they should talk about what is feasible and the only feasible thing is that Pakistan should make its strategy together with Muslim countries for the protection of its Palestinian brothers so that Israel at least stops its aggression. . Immediately following my talk was Ismail Hania's address and I had the honor of inviting him to address the conference. Ismail Hania is no longer in this world, but unfortunately the Foreign Office of Pakistan removed the name of his killer from its statement. This means that the homework done to recognize Israel under General Pervez Musharraf has remained in place despite many changes of government.

In 2019, Imran Khan was the Prime Minister and he was asked to recognize Israel. I was also invited to a meeting where several journalists and anchors were advising Khan to recognize Israel. General Qamar Javed Bajwa had previously given a briefing to all my colleagues that in the wider interest of the country and the nation, the media should start a debate on the importance of relations with Israel. What I submitted to Bajwa Sahib, I submitted to Imran Khan. I said that the policy of the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam regarding Israel should be yours. Khan Sahib immediately agreed with me and ended the matter.

After this meeting, where did I get angry? I want to ask today whether the policy of Pakistan's foreign office is in accordance with the policy of Allama Iqbal and Quaid-i-Azam. I have stated before, and now I am writing that Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam agreed with each other not only for the establishment of Pakistan but also for the freedom of Kashmir and the protection of Palestine. Allama Iqbal announced Kashmir Freedom Movement on August 14, 1931 in a meeting at Mochi Darwaza Lahore and in December of the same year he reached Bait-ul-Maqdis where he wrote his famous Natia poem Zouk Wa Shook which is included in "Baal Jibreel". Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam started the movement for the establishment of Pakistan on the one hand and on the other hand the struggle that they fought to prevent the establishment of Israel is unprecedented.

All India Muslim League started political and financial assistance to Palestinian Muslims from 1923. Muslim League repeatedly celebrated Palestine Day, repeatedly established the Palestine Fund. The Grand Mufti of Palestine, Mufti Amin Al-Husseini, was very close to both the poet of the East and the father of the nation. Between 1937 and 1948, the Muslim League supported Palestine in each of its annual meetings. The Quaid-i-Azam rejected the plan to partition Palestine more than once. On December 9, 1947, the Quaid-i-Azam wrote a letter to American President Truman in his capacity as Governor General and rejected the partition of Palestine by the United Nations, saying that this partition will never be implemented and the Jews will not benefit from this partition. . Quaid-i-Azam was not against the Jews, he always condemned the Zionists. The last meeting of All India Muslim League was held on 14 and 15 December 1947 in Karachi. In this meeting, along with partition, Tain, Zionist aggression was condemned. On December 19, 1947, while giving an interview to the BBC, Quaid-e-Azam also criticized Britain and called it responsible for injustice towards the Palestinians. The Quaid-i-Azam did not recognize Israel, but today it has become difficult for the Foreign Office in Pakistan to condemn Israel. In Pakistan, it is easy to break the constitution, it is easy to disqualify the elected prime ministers from the courts and open fire on political gatherings, but mentioning the name of Israel hurts the national interest. The question to the state of Pakistan is whether Pakistan is really a nuclear power.
