In the city of Gujranwala of Najab, there used to be a Hakim Sahib, whose office was in an old building.
Hakeem Sahib used to say to his wife every morning before going to Matab that whatever you need for the day, write it down on a piece of paper. The wife would write it down. The first thing you do when you come to the shop is to open the door. The things that the wife would have written. They would list the price of those things in front of them, then they would total them. Then he would pray to Allah that Ya Allah! I have left your worship only in obedience to your order and have come here in the worldly circles. As soon as you arrange my required amount today. I will get up from here at that time and then that will be it. Sometimes at half past nine in the morning, sometimes at ten o'clock, Hakeem Sahib would go back to his village after getting rid of the patients.
One day Hakeem opened a shop. When he opened the chit to calculate the amount, he stared at the chit. Once his mind wandered. He could see the stars flashing before his eyes but soon he got over his nerves. After flour and dal etc. Begum had written, daughter's dowry material. Phaskar kept thinking for some time.
A couple of patients had come. Hakeem Sahib was giving medicine to him. Meanwhile, a big car stopped in front of his office. Hakeem Sahib did not pay any special attention to the car or the owner of the car because many cars kept coming to him.
Both the patients left with the medicine. He got out of the suit-booted sahib car and sat on the bench after saluting. Hakeem Sahib said that if you want to take medicine for yourself, then come here on the stool so that I can see your pulse and if you want to take medicine for a patient, then describe the condition of the disease.
He said, Hakeem sir, I think you did not recognize me. But how can you even recognize me? Because after 15, 16 years, I have entered your school. Let me tell you about the last meeting, then you will remember everything. When I first came here, he did not come by himself. God brought me to you because God had mercy on me and wanted to settle my house. It happened that I was going to my native place from Lahore to Mirpur in my car.
Our car got punctured right in front of your shop.
The driver took off the wheel of the car and went to fix the puncture. You see me standing by the car in the heat. You came to me and you pointed to the desk and said come here and sit on the chair. The blind wants two eyes. I thanked you and sat on the chair.
The driver was a little late. A little girl was also standing here by your table and was repeatedly saying, "Let's go, I'm hungry." You were telling her, daughter, wait a little, let's go now.
I have been sitting by your side for so long thinking. I should buy some medicine from you so that you don't feel my sitting too much. I said, Hakeem sir, I have been in England for 5-6 years. I was married before I went to England, but am still without the blessing of children. Treated a lot here and there in England too but so far have seen nothing but disappointment in fortune.
You said my brother! Recite repentance. God, do not despair of your God. Remember! His treasury lacks nothing. Children, wealth and happiness, life and death are all in his hands. There is no healing in the hands of a hakim or doctor, nor is there healing in any medicine. If there is to be healing, it must be by the command of Allah. If he wants to give children, he has to give them.
I remember you talking and making jokes together. Divide all the medicines into 2 parts and put them in 2 envelopes. Then asked me what is your name? I told that my name is Muhammad Ali. You wrote Muhammad Ali on one envelope and Begum Muhammad Ali on the other. Then put the two envelopes in one big envelope and told how to use the medicine. I reluctantly took the medicine because I just wanted to give you some money. But when after taking the medicine I asked how much money? You said it's fine. I insisted, so you said today's account is closed.
I said I didn't understand what you said. Meanwhile another man had come there. He told me that the closure of the account means that the amount that Hakeem Sahib had requested from Allah for today's household expenses has been given by Allah. They cannot take more money. I was a little surprised and a little ashamed in my heart at how stupid my thoughts were and what a great man this simple sage was. When I went home and showed the medicine to the wife and told the whole story, she said helplessly, "He is not a human being, but an angel, and the medicines given by him will make our wish come true." Hakeem sir, three flowers are showing their spring in my house today.
We are praying for you all the time. Whenever Pakistan holiday came. The car stopped there but found the shop closed. I also came yesterday afternoon. Your office was closed. A man was standing nearby. He said that if you want to meet Hakeem Sahib then you must reach at 9 am otherwise there is no guarantee of meeting him. That is why I have come to you early today.
Muhammad Ali said that when I saw your little daughter here in your office 15 years ago, I told you that seeing her reminded me of my niece.
Hakeem sir, our whole family has settled in England. Only one of our widowed sisters lives in Pakistan with her daughter. Our niece was supposed to get married on 21st of this month. I took all the expenses of this niece's wedding. 10 days ago, I sent him to Lahore to my relatives in the same car to buy whatever he wanted for the wedding. He got fever on his way to Lahore but did not tell anyone. She used to take fever tablets, disparin etc. and kept roaming in the markets. She suddenly fell unconscious while walking in the market. From there he was taken to the hospital. After going there, it was found that he has a fever of 106 degrees and it is meningitis. She passed away from this mortal world in a state of unconsciousness.
As soon as he died, why did my wife and I think of your daughter? We husband and wife and all our family have decided that we will deliver all the dowry belongings of our niece to you. If the marriage is early, they will arrange it themselves, and if it is still a little late, they will give you cash for all the expenses. You don't have to. You show your house so that the goods truck can be delivered there.
Hakeem Sahib was shocked and worried and said, "Mohammed Ali Sahib, I do not understand what you are saying, I do not have enough brain. This morning, when I came here and opened the chit written by my wife's hand, after the pepper masala, when I read these words "daughter's dowry goods", you know what I wrote. Just watch this chit yourself. Muhammad Ali was surprised to see that in front of "Daughter's Dowry" was written "This work belongs to Allah, Allah knows."
Believe me Muhammad Ali, till today it never happened that the wife wrote something on the chit and the Mullah did not arrange it on the same day. Wow Mola Wow. If it is great, then it is cream. Shocked by your niece's death but amazed at his power, how he performs his miracles.
Hakeem Sahib said that ever since he regained consciousness, he had read only one lesson that in the morning he should recite "Razaq, Razaq, Tu Hi Razaq" and in the evening "Shakar, Shakar Mola Tera Shakar...
