The day started with special prayers for national development and unity in the Fajr prayer, 31 gun salutes were fired in the federal capital and 21 guns in the provincial capital. Along with Nadeem, the national flag was hoisted, and solemn ceremonies of changing of the guards were held at Mazar Quaid and Mazar Iqbal.

LAHORE - The 77th Independence Day of Pakistan is being celebrated with great enthusiasm and national spirit throughout the country. The day started with special prayers for national development and unity in the Fajr prayer. Gun salutes were fired in the federal and provincial capitals. On the occasion of Independence Day, government and other important buildings have also been decorated with electric lights.
The day began with special prayers for the beloved country while 31 guns were fired in the federal capital and 21 guns in the provincial capital. The main flag hoisting ceremony took place in Islamabad, in which Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif hoisted the national flag along with Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem. Flag hoisting ceremonies are also going on in the provincial capitals.
On the occasion of Independence Day, solemn ceremonies of the changing of the guards were held at the mausoleum of poet Allama Iqbal and the mausoleum of Quaid Karachi.
On the day of Independence Day, a solemn ceremony of changing of the guards was held at the mausoleum of Father of the Nation Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Cadets of Pakistan Naval Academy have taken over the duties of Honorary Guard at Quaid's mausoleum. Commandant Pakistan Naval Academy Commodore Muhammad Khalid was the chief guest of the solemn ceremony of the changing of the guards, while Lieutenant Commander Ahmed Hasan Tamgha Basalt performed the duties of the parade commander.
The Honor Guard at the Mausoleum of the Founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam consists of two detachments. One detachment consists of sailors of Pakistan Navy, while the other detachment consists of cadets of Pakistan Naval Academy. Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta and In every corner of the country, including Multan, there was a spring of songs and green flags with lights and fireworks. On the occasion of Independence Day, an Independence Parade was held at Pakistan Military Academy Kakool, where the cadets marched past.
In the Independence Day ceremony, the flag was unfurled at 12 o'clock in the night, everyone read the national anthem together, shouted Pakistan Zindabad and paid special tribute to the martyrs of the motherland. Spectacular musical programs were organized in Sindh and Governor House Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a special team was invited from Dubai for fireworks in Sindh Governor House while well-known singers Atif Aslam and Abida Parveen performed their magic.
At 12 o'clock in the night at the beginning of Independence Day, fireworks were displayed in Greater Iqbal Park in Lahore. On this occasion, laser light was also arranged, which thousands of citizens gathered to see. The number reached while the independence celebration ceremony was also held in the Governor's House and fireworks were displayed.
Spectacular fireworks were organized in Islamabad's F-Nine Park, Paris Olympics gold medalist Arshad Nadeem also participated in the ceremony, while a kilometer long national flag was hoisted in Rawalpindi's Raja Bazaar. A magnificent firework display was performed while fireworks were also displayed in the Governor House Peshawar in connection with the Independence Day celebration.
In his special message on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan, President Asif Ali Zardari has said that in order to deal with the current challenges, we have to work without differences, and work with determination for national unity, integrity and economic stability. In his message, President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the entire Pakistani nation on the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan and said that the Independence Day is the peak of the historical and political struggle of Indian Muslims for the right to self-determination.
